Hassan Rouhani: It is important to solve conflicts peacefully through cooperation and involvement of regional countries

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani has stressed the importance of settlement of the conflicts peacefully through the cooperation and involvement of the regional countries as he met Azerbaijan`s newly-appointed ambassador Bunyad Huseynov.

Azerbaijan`s Ambassador handed over his credentials to the President of Iran.

President Hassan Rouhani recalled his meetings with President Ilham Aliyev within the international events, as well as his Baku and Tehran meetings, and asked the ambassador to deliver his greetings to the head of state.

The President said both countries showed strong will for development of relations even further. The Iranian President stressed the importance of joint efforts in developing bilateral cooperation between the relevant bodies of both countries.

President Hassan Rouhani said Iranian-Azerbaijani-Russian, Iranian-Azerbaijani-Turkish, Iranian-Azerbaijani-Georgian cooperation served to interests of the region.

On Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the President expressed hope that the ceasefire would be maintained, adding they were ready to assist the settlement of the problem.

The Ambassador conveyed the sincere greetings to President Ilham Aliyev said both countries shared same history, culture. The diplomat also stressed the huge services of national leader Heydar Aliyev in establishing and developing the mutual respect in Azerbaijani-Iranian relations. The ambassador also highlighted bilateral beneficial cooperation between the both countries within the international organizations.

Bunyad Huseynov said he would try his best for further developing and strengthening cooperation and friendship between the two countries and nations.
