Dear brother,
I was deeply saddened by the news of the death of prominent statesman and public figure, the ninth President of the Republic of Turkey Suleyman Demirel.
Suleyman Demirel devoted all his life and activities to ensuring prosperity of native Turkey. He made major contributions to the deepening of cooperation between Turkic speaking peoples and states. At the same time, Suleyman Demirel was a true friend of the Azerbaijani people. His hearty commitment to Azerbaijan found its expression in his support of our independence and his contribution to the strengthening of Azerbaijani-Turkish brotherhood.
On the occasion of this tragic loss, I extend my deep condolences and sympathies to you, brotherly people of Turkey and the family and loved ones of Suleyman Demirel.
May Allah rest his soul in peace!
