IFRC SECRETARY GENERAL NAMED
At the coming November 2003 General Assembly of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent, the Board of administration of the mentioned structure will nominate to the post of Secretary General the candidacy of Mark Niscala, acting as head of the office currently.
The 57-old Secretary General of the Association of Red Cross of Finland during 30 years takes part at the international movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent.
In 1970, he became member of the Association of Red Cross of Finland, then, during three years worked as the director of the European department of the Secretariat of the International Federation. After return to Finland in 1998, he took the position of Secretary General of the Association of Red Cross of this country.
M. Niscala has a degree of master in the field of public management, knows Finnish, Swedish, German and English languages.
