IMF REGARDS NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF AZERBAIJAN AS SUCCESSFUL
As he said, during a week-long visit to Baku, the mission of Fund pursued the purpose to reach a consensus with the government of Azerbaijan on some questions - acceptance of long-term strategy of management by oil incomes, reform of financial sector and increase of the prices for energy carriers.
The representative of IMF has noted that the government practically finishes development of strategy of management of oil incomes. "In our opinion, these incomes are necessary for directing not to oil sector, in particular, on financing of actions on repair of motorways, and also other infrastructure projects", Mr. John Wakeman Lynn said.
As the representative of IMF has noted, the government of Azerbaijan is concerned with a developed situation with growth of inflation in the country and in the course of negotiations were discussed variants of how to provide decrease in its rate.
Speaking about increase of the internal prices for energy carriers, the head of mission informed, that the government of Azerbaijan works above the mechanism of increase of the prices for energy carriers, and also terms of introduction of this mechanism. "The IMF recommends the government to raise the price for all oil products, except for kerosene and diesel fuel", he told, having noted, as on this question of IMF and the government of Republic has "more common moments, than disagreements".
