INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE FOR TEA-GROWING DEVELOPMENT
Press and Information Department Chief of the Lankaran State University Etibar Ahadov told Azertaj that Rector of the University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Prof. Mirza Bagirov dwelt in his opening remarks on the significance and purposes of the conference and development of the Azerbaijan - Iran relationship.
Chief of Agrarian-Industry Policy Department of the Ministry of Economic Development Shahverdi Akhadov, Chairman of “Sun-tea” affiliate of the “Azersun-Holding” Group of Companies Zardabi Nagiyev put forward proposals and recommendations wit respect to perspectives of tea-growing development in the Caspian zone.
At the plenary sitting of the conference president of Tea Association of Azerbaijan, chief of chair at the Lankaran State University, doctor of agricultural sciences, professor Farman Guliyev, dean of Gilan University of IRI Abdulla Khatamzadeh and deputy director of Gilan Senior Scientific-Research Tea Department Remzan Bakhshipur reported on the state and problems of tea-growing in Caspian subtropical regions, significance of researches in this sphere, selection of tea and classification of lands.
The conference continued to work in sections. Over 50 reports were heard at section classes entitled “Ways and problems to increase the crop capacity and quality of tea plantations”, “Survey of lands fit for tea planting and ways and problems of increasing of their crop capacity”.
The conference revolved around analyze of reasons impeding tea production, ways of its expansion between processing and producing spheres, goals to increase crop capacity.
The conference was attended by advisor of Embassy of Iran to Azerbaijan Farkhad Bayat, tea-growers.
