INTERNATIONAL DAY OF OLDER PERSONS MARKED IN SUMGAIT

A meeting dedicated to the International Day of Older Persons took place in Sumgait. Congratulating the audience, head of the Sumgait executive power Vagif Aliyev noted that UN-led International Day of Older Persons marked yearly all around the world is close to Azerbaijani mentality. Azerbaijanis take a special care about the older persons. V. Aliyev stressed the Heydar Aliyev’s positive attitude for older people’s needs who contributed much to the Azerbaijan’s history. Many of them were awarded state prizes.

Members of Aksakkals Council Zarifa Takhmazova, honored rationalizer Idris Aliyev and many others expressed gratitude for attention and care showed by President for older person’s problems.

The meeting was concluded by lunch and performances of the national ensembles.
