INTERNATIONAL PROJECT EMBRACES FOUR HIGH SCHOOLS
In his opening remarks, rector of Technical University, professor Havar Mammadov said, “first of these projects approved by European Commission on Culture and Education and realized in ATU for 2 and half years. As a result, master and bachelor degrees at the electro-technical department were modernized in accordance with European standards and set up three well-equipped laboratories and about 30 teachers visited Germany. Besides, lecture reviews on subjects were worked out and printed.”
H. Mammadov reminded that new project, dedicated to modernization of engineer’s training in Azerbaijan will be realized in three universities apart from ATU.
Education minister Misir Mardanov stressed significance of the Project and expressed hope for its successful realization.
The following reports were delivered at the conference: report of rector of the Oil Academy of Azerbaijan Siyavush Garayev entitled “Influence of TEMPUS project on modernization of education and researches in ASOA”, coordinator of the European House in Azerbaijan Janni Bosher’s report “Assistance of the European Union to development of high schools in Azerbaijan”, BP representative Stan Bennio’s report on “Perspective requirements of BP to quality of education in preparation of certified specialists”.
TEMPUS project coordinator, professor Rza Talibi-Daryani reported on the situation with project’s realization for September 20, 2003.
The conference was attended by deputy ambassador of Germany to Azerbaijan Karsten Meiyyer-Viefhauzen.
