Istanbul to host 30th Session of COMCEC

The 30th Session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) will be held in Istanbul on 25-28 November 2014 with the participation of the OIC Member States and relevant OIC, regional and international institutions.
An Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev will attend the event.
The meeting of the Senior Officials of the 30th Session of the COMCEC will be held on 25-26 November, where the delegations of the Member States and the OIC institutions will consider and deliberate on a number of agenda items related to various issues of enhancing economic and commercial cooperation among the Member States.
The issues include: Review of COMCEC Strategy and its implementation and the implementation of the OIC Ten-Year Program of Action; World economic developments with special reference to the OIC member countries; Recent developments in intra-OIC trade, the Trade Preferential System among the OIC Member States (TPS-OIC), Priority Sectors (agriculture, tourism, trade, finance, poverty, and transportation) and exchange of views on the theme “The Role of PPP (Public-Private Partnership) in Tourism Sector Development in the OIC Member States”; Financial cooperation among the OIC member countries; and Poverty alleviation. In their deliberations on all these issues, the Senior Officials will discuss and consider the recommendations and policy implications of many technical and background reports prepared and presented by various relevant OIC institutions as well as those of some related international and regional organizations.
They will also prepare the Draft Resolutions on these issues for consideration by the Ministerial Meeting, which will be held on 27-28 November 2014 under the Chairmanship of President of the Republic of Turkey and Chairman of COMCEC Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
