Jordan Times Editor-in-Chief: Azerbaijani model of multiculturalism is an example for many countries

“The Seventh Global Forum of UN Alliance of Civilizations in Baku, which has played an important role in strengthening inter-civilization and inter-cultural dialogue, was excellently organized,” Samir Barhoum, Editor-in-chief of Jordanian English-language newspaper Jordan Times said in an interview with AZERTAC`s correspondent.
He said that the Baku Forum focused on topical issues. Hailing President Ilham Aliyev’s speech at the official opening ceremony, Samir Barhoum said that "it was a brilliant and interesting speech of the Azerbaijani leader on the country`s political line, ancient Azerbaijani civilization and deep historical and cultural values, including a large experience of multiculturalism and tolerance.”
Mr Barhoum pointed out that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev Azerbaijan carried out wise and balanced policy in all areas, especially in the area of multiculturalism. "The country is making a significant contribution to inter-cultural, inter-religious relations not only in Azerbaijan, but also at the international level.” “Azerbaijani model of multiculturalism is an example for many countries.”
He also shared his impressions of Baku, saying that he was happy to visit “one of the most beautiful cities in the world”.
As for bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Jordan, Mr Barhoum said there is a great potential for cooperation between the two countries.
