KAZAKHSTAN NOT TO PULL OUT ITS TROOPS FROM IRAQ

Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Altinbayev stated that the term of service of Kazakh militaries in Iraq expires in summer, and that they would not be sent there any more.

In this respect, the Government of Kazakhstan circulated a statement saying Kazakhstan does not ponder over withdrawal of its peacekeeping forces from Iraq as Kazakh servicemen would further help Iraqi people. Kazakhstan is destined to commit itself to post-war rebuilding of Iraq and to support UN’s efforts in this direction.

Nevertheless, taking into account the dangerous situation in Iraq Kazakhstan referred to the command of Allied Forces in order to ensure the security of its militaries
