An Orientation has been held at the KOICA Azerbaijan Office for Tural Balakishiyev, Desk Officer of the First Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who is going to represent Azerbaijan at the KOICA Training Program titled “Korean Language and Understanding of Korean Culture” to be held in Korea on June 21 – July 11.
The Training Program aims to improve Korean language proficiency, understand Korean culture, gain knowledge and insight from Korea’s economic development, strengthen cooperation between Korea and participating countries, exchange views and ideas about participating countries’ culture and enhance mutual understanding. The Implementing Agency of the Training Program is Gangneung-Wonju National University of the Republic of Korea and 18 participants from 11 countries will participate at the training program. At the Orientation the Country Director of the KOICA Office in Azerbaijan Park Kumok gave brief information on the KOICA and its activities in Azerbaijan and wished all the best to Tural Balakishiyev.
The KOICA is a state agency, which was established under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea in 1991, in order to implement grant and cooperation programs for developing nations. The KOICA has been inviting Azerbaijani public officials to various fellowship and scholarship programs since 1994. As of 2018, the number of KOICA alumni has reached over 640.
