Kazakhstan`s CEC says registration of candidates for presidential elections ended

Kazakhstan`s Central Election Commission released information about the results of the registration of candidates for presidential elections.

The time for submission of applications for participation in the election ended on March 15, and the registration came to an end on March 25.

According to the CEC, during the period 20 meetings were held and 48 decisions were adopted.

As of March 16, the CEC received applications of 27 candidates, including 2 women. Some candidates withdrew their candidacies on their own and some failed the Kazakh language exam.

Three candidates have the right to proceed with the election campaigning: Nursultan Nazarbayev, Turgun Syzdykov and Abelgazi Kusainov.
