    Leicester city keeper Kasper Schmeichel beats Spurs star Christian Eriksen to award

    Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has won the Danish Footballer of the Year award, according to Leicestershire Live.

    Schmeichel has won the award for the third time, taking him to within one of the record.

    Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen and former Rangers forward Brian Laudrup currently hold the record with four wins.

    Schmeichel's previous two wins came back-to-back in 2016 after lifting the Premier League title with City, and again the following year.
