“The people of Daghestan remember the situation which was in Azerbaijan several years ago, before Heydar Aliyev’s arrival to power. Only his personality, authority and political will have closely rallied Azerbaijan people. Now, Azerbaijan as a strong state with the bright prospects moves ahead on the way of progress. The Azerbaijan people are grateful for it, first, to Heydar Aliyevich Aliyev.

The people of Daghestan love dear Heydar Aliyevich not only as an outstanding politician, but also as the person understanding problems and cares of other peoples, including ethnic Daghestanis. We respect Heydar Aliyevich, also because he is an outstanding statesman, understands value of subjects of the Russian Federation in our country, in structure of Russia, appreciates will of the people of Dagestan in the structures of Russia. Therefore, people of Dagestan have sincere love, huge respect and deep consideration for Heydar Aliyev.

The policy pursued by Heydar Aliyevich aiming at even greater expansion of brotherly state relations with the Russian Federation, stimulates further strengthening of friendship between peoples of Azerbaijan and Dagestan. I want to note that, Heydar Aliyevich Aliyev continues to bring in the cause of political development, social, and economic and spiritual progress of the Azerbaijan society, personal contribution that has brought now, makes him a great politician. We trust that under Heydar Aliyev’s leadership people of Azerbaijan people will necessarily achieve tremendous successes on the way of progress ”.
