MOLDOVA NOT TO LEAVE CIS

Commenting the statement of Moldova President Vladimir Voronin he made last week, the Prime Minister of Moldova Vasile Tarlev said that Moldova does not plan to leave the Commonwealth.

As is known, President Voronin stated that creation of a common economic space with the participation of Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Belarus pushes aside the idea of modernization of CIS and in this case, it is better for Moldova to make step towards the European Union.

Prime Minister V. Tarlev stressed: ‘President expressed the idea of Moldova clearly. Those familiarized with his official statement, cannot say that Moldova leaves the Commonwealth. There is no a sign about it. Moldova and its citizens are closely bound with the CIS countries. Therefore, these ties should be preserved.’
