MULTINATIONAL MILITARY EXERCISES DUE IN GEORGIA IN SEPTEMBER
According to the information provided by the HQ of the Armed Forces of Georgia, in the frames if NATO ‘Partnership for Peace’ Program, from 8 to 21 September will be conducted multinational military exercises ‘Medicare’ and ‘Rescuer’.
These exercises were planned to be conducted in late May beginning June, were postponed due to the Iraqi war.
Together with the militaries from the US and Georgia, at the exercises will take part also servicemen from Albania, Germany, Bulgaria, Estonia, Moldova, Ukraine and Turkey. The foreign participants total 350 people. 230 of them, approximately, are Americans.
The ‘Medicare’ exercises will have ‘real character’, i.e. the militaries will exert medical assistance to the population. The ‘Rescuer’ – is a commandment-staff exercise, conducted by computers. For this purpose, at the base in Vazian (near Tbilisi) of the Defense Ministry of Georgia will be set up a special computer center.
