MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF WORLD CHAMPION
Some European media reported on sudden death of famous athlete, world cycle race champion, 34-year-old Marco Pantani nicknamed “Pirate” who died on February 14 in the small Italian town of Rimini.
M. Pantani, twice champion of “Jiro de Italia” race, and winner of “Tour de France”, found himself on February 9 in one of the hotels of Rimini near his native village Sezenatiko and died 5 days later in the same hotel. The death of the world famous athlete shocked entire Europe. According to some media, he sustained a depression for some time and died of the cardiovascular system disease, while the other source claims he died of the drugs overdose.
Famous Italian doctor Guseppe Fortuni said that at least 2 weeks are necessary to conduct a thorough analysis in order to ascertain the reasons of death.
Thus, the reason of Marco Pantani’s death still remains a mystery.
