Manchester United make €85million bid for Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller
Baku, August 20, AZERTAC
Manchester United have reportedly made an 85 million euros bid for Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller, according to the www.mirror.co.uk.The German international has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford this summer, with Bayern believed to have rejected two offers for the player.
They insisted he was not for sale at any price but it was claimed over the weekend that Muller has now decided that he wants to join Louis van Gaal`s men.
And according to Bild, United have been made aware - and launched the big-money offer.
The fee, believed to be €85m (£59.87m), would just edge Angel Di Maria as United's record buy.
Last month, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge rubbished speculation linking Muller with a move to United - declaring the World Cup winner is simply unsellable.
"There are players who don't have a price tag," declared Rummenigge. "We would have lost our senses if we allowed such a player to leave."
"It`s a hoax that left Munich but then sunk in the Pacific. There`s nothing in it." Louis van Gaal has made no secret of his wish to bring in a frontman, with the previously out-of-favour Javier Hernandez now appearing the only back-up option to Wayne Rooney. Muller began the German season in style on Friday night, netting twice as Bayern thrashed Hamburg in Bavaria.
