Missile strikes on civilian areas have to stop, says PACE Migration Committee Chairperson

Baku, November 1, AZERTAC

Chairperson of the Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons Pierre-Alain Fridez has called to stop missile strikes on civilian areas, according to the Organizations’ official website.

The strike on the Azerbaijani town of Barda, reportedly killing 21, is a tragedy, said Pierre-Alain Fridez, adding that the humanitarian consequences of the conflict over the Nagorno Karabakh region are deeply worrying.

The PACE Committee chairperson noted that he had put the issue on the agenda of the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons, so that parliamentarians from the 47 member States of the Council of Europe can follow the situation carefully.
