NATIONAL DAY OF INDIA CELEBRATED IN BAKU
The ceremony started with state anthems of Azerbaijan and India.
Ambassador of India in Baku, Joyti Svapur Pande greeted the participant, told about development way passed by the Republic of India during the years of independence and its achievements. Speaking on friendly and mutually profitable relations of cooperation between the two countries, the diplomat pointed out that during many years, our countries have been enjoying good relations both in the field of culture and commerce. The Ambassador has just started representing his country in Azerbaijan and promised that he will use his responsibilities for expansion of Indian-Azerbaijani relations, to raise them to higher level. The Ambassador expressed best wishes to the Republic of Azerbaijan and people of this country.
Chairman of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) Murtuz Alasgarov made speech at the ceremony on behalf of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and cordially congratulated the employees of the Embassy and the whole Indian people on their national day, conveyed wishes of happiness and prosperity to friendly and fraternal Indian people on behalf of the President of Azerbaijan.
One of the ancient center of culture, India has contributed a lot to mankind civilization, played an important role in evolution of public though, he said. India caused interest of neighboring nations, and Azerbaijan among them, by its achievements in science, arts, music and other fields.
It was pointed out that the Republic of Azerbaijan aimed at foundation of a legal, democratic and secular state and creation of market economy, is trying to use experience of the leading countries of the world and the states with similar situation. From this point of view, the way passed by India after gaining independence, is of great interest for a young Azerbaijani state.
Speaking on parliamentary relations between Azerbaijan and India, Alasgarov reminded that the parliamentary delegations of the both countries meet at different international functions, share their views on issues of mutual interest. Recently, the cooperation between our two states in science, education, culture and others has been developing, he said. Revival of the ancient Silk Road will give a new impulse to relations between our states in all fields, creates a favorable ground for the further strengthening of friendly relations between the two countries.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vilayat Guliyev, foreign relations department head of President’s Office Novruz Mamedov, Minister of Youth, Sport and Tourism, Abulfaz Garayev, heads of foreign countries’ diplomatic representations in Baku, Milli Majlis members and other officials were present at the reception.
