Nargiz Pashayeva honored with Order of Merit
Baku, March 13 (AZERTAC). Rector of the Baku branch of the Moscow Stat University was awarded the Order of Merit in Gold of the European economic Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry (EEIG) in a solemn ceremony held on Wednesday.
Opening the ceremony, senior lecturer Andrey Krupchanov told of the activity of the Moscow State University. He noted that the Baku branch is one of the country`s most prestigious and leading educational institutions.
Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director General of the EEIG Heinz Helmut Vejpustek told of the activity of the organization. He congratulated Pashayeva and presented her with the Order.
Professor Nargiz Pashayeva expressed gratitude to the EEIG for the award.
Pashayeva noted that the Moscow State University named after Lomonosov is important in the cultural and historical context in Azerbaijan.
Underlining the educational role of Europe in developing mankind, the rector noted that first universities created in Europe gave a necessary impetus to development of the whole world civilization.
"Today, Europe is associated in minds of every educated man with the progress in all fields of science and technology as well as cultural heritage, beauty, romance without which it is impossible to live. Time did not manage to change the beautiful look of Europe," rector said.
She noted that all achievements and successes of the MSU Baku Branch are the result of the long and hard work. Pashayeva pointed out that a well-coordinated team with Russian colleagues was built in the university.
"Today`s award can be referred to each employee of the MSU," she added.
The Brussels-based EEIG Senate made a decision on December 13, 2012 to award an Order of Merit to Nargiz Pashayeva.
The order is honored for contribution to and high professionalism in activities.
