OFFICIAL RECEPTION AT RUSSIAN EMBASSY
The reception was attended by Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Opening the reception, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Azerbaijan Nikolay Ryabov read out Russian President’s decree on conferring the medal In Honor of Tercentenary of Saint Petersburg upon Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Handing over the medal to the Prime Minister, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Vladimir Rushaylo said:
“Dear Ilham Heydarovich! I want to complete the instruction of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and present you a medal In Honor of Tercentenary of Saint Petersburg.”
Then, head of Azerbaijan’s Government Ilham Aliyev said:
“It is a great honor for me to be awarded this medal, especially since it presented to me by the decree of esteemed President Vladimir Putin. It stresses once again both friendly and fraternal relations between our countries and the fact that the persons who, as the fate willed, had to rule our countries have just one common desire to strengthen our co-operation, develop friendship and fraternity between Russia and Azerbaijan, between Russian and Azerbaijani people. I highly appreciate this medal and want to assure you – we have talked about it today - that I would do my best to make our countries closer, our relations better, even though, I guess, they couldn’t be better, anyway, we will try. Thank you once again”.
