OIC countries` media to continue to provide information support to Azerbaijan VIDEO

Baku, March 14, AZERTAC

The OIC countries are particularly sensitive while highlighting in their media Azerbaijan’s victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, the barbarism committed by Armenia in the Azerbaijani lands occupied for almost 30 years, and the large-scale reconstruction and restoration work carried out in the liberated territories.

Providing information support to Azerbaijan, as well as other issues were discussed at the meeting held between AZERTAC Chairman of Board Aslan Aslanov and a group of OIC countries` media outlets who has recently visited the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.

Noting that AZERTAC news agency is closely cooperating with a number of Arab media outlets, Aslan Aslanov said that during the Patriotic war they provided extensive information support by disseminating objective information about Azerbaijan’s just cause.

“Under the leadership of Victorious Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev Azerbaijan won a brilliant victory in the 44-day Patriotic War. At that time, serious work was done in the field of information. Thanks to the support of partner agencies and media outlets AZERTAC has managed to communicate to the world community the objective information about the war, as well as the barbarism of the Armenian aggressors. As a member of the Executive Council of the Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA), AZERTAC is closely cooperating with many media outlets represented in this organization," Aslan Aslanov said.

AZERTAC and UNA are actively consulting on expansion of bilateral relations as well as on the improvement of Organization's activities.

Saying that they rejoice in Azerbaijan’s Victory in the Patriotic War, Iraqi professor Mutazz Muhy Abdulhamid noted that many articles highlighting the Karabakh issue have been published in the Iraqi media, adding that he also published a few books on the same subject. Pointing to his visit to Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, the professor said he was horrified by the scale of the destruction caused by Armenia.

Editor-in-chief of the Egyptian Al Diplomacy newspaper Ashraf Abu Urafa said that their news portal had been cooperating with AZERTAC for several years. “Both before and during the war we were receiving news on Azerbaijan from AZERTAC, the news agency who has been promptly communicating these news to the world community," he said.

Describing AZERTAC news agency as a reliable partner, UNA Director for External Relations and Strategic Development Yunus Inayat said that they would continue to provide information support to Azerbaijan. Speaking about the future improvement of the organization, Inayat said that they are interested in conducting a broad exchange of views with AZERTAC in this regard.

An employee of the Moroccan News Agency (MAP) Khalid Al Harrak stressed the importance of organizing joint activities to enhance relations between the two friendly news agencies, noting that AZERTAC, a member of the News Agencies World Council (NACO), is one of the agencies supporting the 7th News Agencies World Congress to be held in Morocco.
