OMBUDSMAN OF AZERBAIJAN OBSERVING ELECTIONS
“We have observed the elections in the Sabail and Garadag districts in the early morning. I would like to stress that the residents - among them there were refugees, IDPs, too - were very active. It is very pleased. I was among the first who voted in the early morning. Many were waiting at the election stations before the time. First, it is activeness. Secondly, this is an expedient voting. There were members of all parties in the election points, including among the Puta prisons. All confirmed that no breach of election rules was registered”.
The foreign observers also confirmed that there were no irregularities in the course of voting, and that the elections passed in an objective, free, democratic and transparent atmosphere. The election process was as transparent as the ballot boxes.
I would like to especially underscore the penitentiary institutions. The OSCE representatives visited them before us. They were satisfied with the state of things in the prisons.
