ONE OF THE WIDE BOULEVARDS IN CEYHAN NAMED AFTER PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN HEYDAR ALIYEV
According to Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Turkey Mammad Aliyev, the Embassy has received a letter signed by head of the municipality of the city of Ceyhan, which says that ‘taking into account the contributions of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev to the development of political, cultural, social and economical ties between the two friendly and fraternal states, as well as to Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline construction, the city’s Municipal Assembly decided by its February 4, 2003 resolution to name one of the wide boulevards in the city of Ceyhan after the head of Azerbaijan State.
Moreover, in its resolution of July 30, the Municipal Assembly of Ceyhan pointed out the necessity for erecting at the entrance to the Heydar Aliyev Boulevard a bust of the Azerbaijan President for his historical merits before the Turkish world.
The Assembly as well has requested the Government of Azerbaijan to announce a contest on making the bust.
