The ozone hole over Antarctica has enlarged up to 28 million m2, AzerTAj reports citing the Times. At the same time, the area of Antarctica twice as less as the ozone hole. The hole held its latest record three years ago. Now, the content of ozone in the epicenter is 3-fold less than normal. In scholar’s opinion, it poses great threat to Earth’s biosphere ‘cause ultra-violet radiation produces serious diseases of animals and plants. Ozone blocks ultra-violet rays of the sun and prevents them from penetrating into lower layers of atmosphere.
