Our principled position on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will not change, Azerbaijani President says

Baku, November 15, AZERTAC

“There will be no change in our principled position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must be solved within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. There is no other way out,” said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The head of state addressed a solemn ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the founding of the New Azerbaijan Party.

The President said Azerbaijan will not allow the founding of a second Armenian state in the historical Azerbaijani lands: “The norms of international law must be fully implemented, UN Security Council resolutions must be completely fulfilled. Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity must be restored. This is our principled position. This position is based on history and international law because the Nagorno-Karabakh is our historical and ancient land, because the whole world, all the countries recognize Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and respect it. The Nagorno-Karabakh is an integral part of Azerbaijan.”

President Ilham Aliyev said another event confirming this happened this year: “Again as a result of Armenia’s ridiculousness an illegal referendum held in the Nagorno-Karabakh was not recognized by the world community.” "Neither neighboring countries nor Minsk Group co-chairing countries nor the European Union nor other organization recognized the results of this referendum. By doing so they confirmed that Nagorno-Karabakh is an integral part of Azerbaijan," said President Ilham Aliyev.
