On August 5, Turkish newspapers of Zaman, Ortadogu, Turkiye, Huriyyat, Milliyet, Star, Sabah, Axsam, Cumhuriyyet, Tarcuman, Yeni Safaq, Posta, Radical, Yeni Cag, Vatan issued articles related to Ilham Aliyev’s appointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The newspaper printed photos of President Heydar Aliyev and Prime Minister Ilham Aliyev, and widely informed the readers on a special session of Milli Majlis (Parliament), debates, the resolution on appointment, as well as on decrees signed by the President. In addition, the newspapers printed Ilham Aliyev’s biography, his achievements on other positions, as well as articles on Ilham Aliyev’s successful public activities.

Quoting Ilham Aliyev’s interview with journalists, the newspapers stressed the fact that Ilham Aliyev will be stuck to policy carried out by President Heydar Aliyev.

Mass media of that fraternal state especially noted congratulations of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyib Erdogan on Ilham Aliyev’s appointment, the fact that the Turkish government greeted and positively appraised this appointment.

Besides, the newspapers quoted the words of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Abdullah Gul expressed at a joint press conference with UN special envoy for Iraq Sergio de Molli, “There is no reason for concern, democratic process is continuing in Azerbaijan”, he said.
