PARLIAMENT DELEGATION RETURNED TO BAKU
In the course of visit, the speaker met with the President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili, Chairman of Parliament Nino Burdjanadze and Minister of State Zurab Zhvany. Chairman of Milli Majlis congratulated the head of Georgia on inauguration, and dwelt on the friendly relations established between the two nations.
The Chairman expressed hope for further successful continuation of the work aimed at joint participation of Georgia and Azerbaijan in the projects of laying the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, cooperation in other spheres, as well as development of the national-cultural features of Azerbaijanis living in this country and Georgians living in Azerbaijan.
At the meetings held with the leadership of Georgia, Chairman of Milli Majlis stressed the necessity of active attraction of Azerbaijanis to socio-political life of Georgia, their presentation at the state bodies, touched on topical issues as well.
After the inauguration ceremony, the speaker also met with the Minister of State of Turkey Bashir Atalay, Minister of Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Konstantin Grishenko and special envoy for Caspian of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mehti Safari. The sides had exchange of views on issues of mutual interest.
The Azerbaijan delegation returned to Baku on January 26,. At Bina airport the delegation was met by the first Deputy Chairman of Milli Majlis Arif Rahimzade, deputies of the Chairman Ziyafat Asgarov, Govhar Bakhshaliyeva and other officials.
