The international photo exhibit “I live here” was launched at the main headquarters of the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia, as part of the Dialogue of Cultures 12th International Media Forum of Young Journalists of Eurasia.
The exhibition featured 200 works by 30 photographers of Europe and Asia.
Photos taken by AZERTAC photographers Vugar Amrullayev, Roman Ismailov, Tofig Babayev and Fuad Alasgarov captured the views of the night Baku, Seaside Boulevard, Heydar Mosque and Flame Towers. The photos attracted attention of the forum participants and visitors of the Hermitage.
In an interview with AZERTAC, the forum participants shared their impressions about the exhibition of AZERTAC photos.
Correspondent of Kazakhstan’s "Khabar 24" news agency Mark Brushko said he would like to visit Baku and make a story about the capital of Azerbaijan, of which he heard about a lot from his colleagues and friends.
Student at St. Petersburg State University Anastasia Serdyukova said she was fascinated by the views of Baku. "I heard from my friends that Baku is a very beautiful city, but seeing all this beauty in the photos I realized that I want to visit this sunny city,” she said.
Winners of "I live here" photo exhibition Michel Cirillo and Emanuela Laurenti (Italy) pointed out that they had met new people who would probably become the heroes of their future projects. "I made friends from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, France and many other countries. I would very much like to visit Azerbaijan and make a photo story about this country," added Emanuela Laurenti.
Michel Cirillo noted that many young and talented photographers presented their works at this exhibition. "I think that the main task of journalist is to show everything as it is, and not to condemn or criticize the situation and people. The task of the photographer is to evoke the feelings of the audience, to promote deep thinking. I got acquainted with all the photos at the exhibition, but many of them have no idea. For me, it is important that the picture conveys the idea of the author,” he said adding that the photos depicting the landscapes of Baku are among the best at the exhibition.
