President Ilham Aliyev sets up State Commission to investigate causes of accident in substation of Azerbaijan Thermal Power Station LLC

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed an order setting up a State Commission after an accident occurred at one of the substations of Azerbaijan Thermal Power Station LLC.
Under the order, the first deputy prime minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan was appointed chairman of the commission. The minister of energy was appointed deputy chairman of the commission, while the minister of internal affairs, minister of emergency situations, prosecutor general, chief of the state security service, president of Azerenerji open joint stock company, chairman of Azerishig open joint stock company, head of Mingachevir City Executive Authority and director of Institute of Physics of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences were appointed members of the commission.
The head of state instructed the State Commission to investigate the causes of the accident and to inform the President of Azerbaijan about it, to define and carry out urgent measures to eliminate the consequences of the accident, and regularly inform the head of state about the work done.
Under the order, the Prosecutor General’s Office will carry out urgent investigation together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations to identify the causes of the accident and bring those responsible to justice.
