President Ilham Aliyev signs order on some measures to hold Baku-2015 European Games
Baku, August 9 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on some measures to organize the 1st European Games in Baku in 2015.
The order tasked the Cabinet of Ministers with putting in place respective measures within two months to create the accreditation system for persons involved in organization of the European Games as well as the participants of the Games, and to determine the scope of the to-be-accredited persons, determine the accreditation procedures and forms of the accreditation card.
Foreigners who were accredited in a respective manner and stateless persons permanently living in foreign countries are entitled to enter the Republic of Azerbaijan and leave the country on the basis of the passport and other documents beginning from 60 days before the opening of the 1st European Games and within up to 30 days after the end of the Games.
Visas can be obtained ten days before the opening of the Games at the divisions of the consular department of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan based at the international airports of Azerbaijan. Visas are issued upon submitting the 1st European Games ticket.
Foreigners and stateless persons permanently living in foreign countries who were hired in Azerbaijan in connection with the organization of the 1st European Games and were accredited in a respective manner do not need to obtain a work permit.
Under the document, the Ministries of Finance and Foreign Affairs were instructed to deal with providing every facility for issuing a visa at the international airports of Azerbaijan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall inform the European Olympic Committee and respective bodies of foreign countries on visa facilitation.
Visa facilitation information shall be posted on the websites of the Ministry, embassies and consulates of Azerbaijan.
The State Migration Service was tasked with informing the airlines flying to Azerbaijan on the visa facilitation.
