President of International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation meets with Uzbekistani Minister of Culture and Tourism

President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Gunay Afandiyeva has met with Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov as part of the "Days of Shusha" held by the organization in Tashkent.

The intensive development of relations between the Turkic states in present times was noted. The common culture of the Turkic peoples has been named as an special factor in bringing them closer to each other. The parties emphasized the significance of the work carried out by the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation to preserve and bring to the attention of the international community the national and spiritual values of the Turkic world. It was said that the activities of the Foundation play an important role in strengthening the cultural and friendly ties between the Turkic states.

During the conversation, the publications of the Foundation related to the promotion of the culture of Uzbekistan, including the book on the popularization of the literary heritage of the great Uzbek poet and thinker Alisher Navoi in the Azerbaijani language, were highly appreciated. The meeting also emphasized the importance of Uzbekistan's participation in the projects of the organization, such as "Turkic states on the Great Silk Road", "Heritage of the Turkic world in the Ottoman archives", etc. It was noted that the "Days of Shusha" held in Tashkent contributed to the cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

The meeting continued with an exchange of views on further strengthening of mutual partnership relations between the Foundation and Uzbekistan.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan Huseyn Guliyev and representative of the Foundation Talgat Mukhanov took part at the meeting.
