Prime Minister Ali Asadov: Azerbaijan will provide full security to all III CIS Games participants

Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov has attended the meeting of the CIS Council of the Heads of Government held in Sochi, Russia.
Addressing the meeting in a limited format, Prime Minister Ali Asadov expressed his gratitude to the heads of government of CIS member states for the organization of numerous high-level events at their countries dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
He highlighted the role of humanitarian sphere in strengthening mutual understanding and good-neighborly relations between the CIS member states.
Touching upon the upcoming CIS Games, PM Asadov noted that, as the sports project of great importance in humanitarian sphere, the games contribute to enhancement of friendly relations between peoples of CIS member states.
Noting that the third edition of CIS Games will be held in Azerbaijan, in 2025, Ali Asadov highlighted the country’s rich experience of hosting prestigious sports competitions, including Baku 2015 First European Games, IV Islamic Solidarity Games (2017), European Youth Summer Olympic Festival (2019) as well as UEFA club and international matches, and Formula 1 Grand Prix races.
“We have significant human resource potential in the fields of modern sports, logistics, and tourism infrastructure. All these resources allow me to state that Azerbaijan can provide full security to all the participants and delegations as well as ensure the successful and high-level organization of the competitions,” the PM noted.
PM Ali Asadov also briefed the participants on the post-conflict situation in the region. He said that Azerbaijan remains committed to the peace agenda and is keen to continue its efforts to strengthen peace and security in the region. He also highlighted the large-scale restoration and reconstruction works launched by the Azerbaijani government in the liberated territories.
Following the speeches of the heads of delegations, the meeting continued in an expanded format.
