Reports from abroadKISHINEV UNVEILS ITS POSITION ON GUUAM

On July 25, during the interview to the journalists, Foreign Minister of Moldova Nikolae Dudeu announced that the Republic does not consider the possibility to quit GUUAM.

He also stressed that the reason of President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin’s nonparticipation in the GUUAM Summit in Yalta should not be considered as slighting attitude to this regional forum. The Republic was represented in the summit at the level of Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Stratana. He signed all the documents proposed at the meeting.

At the same time, the Foreign Minister stressed that Kishinev has some remarks concerning the effectiveness of this Organization and the way Moldova is treated during the realization of the GUUAM projects.

According to him, at the last year’s Summit, Vladimir Voronin stated that Moldova reserves the right of further actions in case of non-alterations in the Organization. “First of all, within the framework of GUUAM, we are interested in the economical cooperation. Unfortunately, we were debarred from some vital projects. In particular, it is the matter of oil and gas transportation corridors” - N. Dudeu added.
