Role of customs in development of entrepreneurship discussed in Caspian European Club

Major aspects and directions of development of the customs sector have been discussed with business representatives today at the business forum of the Caspian European Club, held with participation of the Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Aydin Aliyev.
Addressing the session, Aydin Aliyev spoke in details about the activity of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He emphasized the necessity of conduction of such meetings within the framework of the Caspian European Club in order to establish a much closer contact between the government agencies and the private sector.
Chairman of the State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev informed Caspian European Club member companies about innovations and changes in the customs legislation, major ways of its development and requirements of normative and legal acts.
According to him, at the Azerbaijan government's session held under the chairmanship of President Ilham Aliyev and dedicated to the results of socio-economic development within 9 months of 2015, the head of state assigned government agencies new tasks, which is why new normative documents are passed.
Mr Aliyev noted that "there are many entrepreneurial associations operating in Azerbaijan. Caspian European Club is one of the important organizations for us among them". According to him, Caspian European Club is operating not only in Azerbaijan, but also in Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia and other countries, so SCC is ready for an open dialogue with the business sector.
The business forum was also attended by First Deputy Chairman of SCC of Azerbaijan Safar Mehdiyev, Deputies Chairman Asgar Abdullayev, Rza Hasanaliyev and Shahin Bagirov.
Discussed at the end of the event were proposals made by the business forum participants regarding this topic as well as issues that were of interest to the Caspian European Club member companies.
Addressing the business forum, Chief Executive Officer of the Caspian European Club Telman Aliyev thanked Aydin Aliyev for a constructive dialogue as well as for attention to proposals and requests made by the members of the Caspian European Club during the event.
Telman Aliyev noted that the Caspian European Club was established in June 2002 under support of the largest oil and gas companies working in the Caspian and Black Sea region. His Excellency President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is the Chairman of the Caspian European Club. According to Telman Aliyev, since its establishment the Caspian European Club has promoted attraction of oil sector revenues into development of the non-oil sector. Caspian European Club, which brings together over 5,000 member companies and organizations, is operating in 50 countries around the world, carrying out an active work to maintain the dialogue between government agencies and the private sector.
Honorary membership certificate of the Caspian European Club was presented to Aydin Aliyev during the business forum. Participating in the business forum of the Caspian European Club were heads of companies and ambassadors of Romania, Latvia, Spain as well as representatives of a number of diplomatic agencies particularly Turkey, USA and Kazakhstan.
