Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman: Declaration on allied interaction between Azerbaijan and Russian is historic document

The details of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov`s visit to Azerbaijan are being elaborated, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a briefing here today.
Labelling the Declaration on allied interaction between Azerbaijan and Russia as the “historic document”, Zakharova highlighted that the document envisages main directions of relations between the two countries.
"Allied ties between Russia and Azerbaijan are a stabilizing factor both in the region and world," the Russian spokeswoman emphasized.
Zakharova also underlined that a number of events are planned to be held to mark the anniversary of the Declaration on allied interaction between Azerbaijan and Russian.
According to her, the visit of Igor Khovayev, the Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry for normalization of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations, to both Baku and Yerevan, reaffirms Russia`s interest in the mediation mission.
Maria Zakharova said that official Moscow is ready to organize a meeting of both countries’ foreign ministers for talks on signing of a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
