SEMPRA OIL TRADING WINS TENDER OF OIL EXPORTED VIA NOVOROSSIISK

The American company Sempra Oil Trading has won the tender to buy the remaining 140 thousand tonnes of the October consignment of SOCAR oil exported along the Baku-Novorossiisk route. According to the Marketing and Economic Operations Department of SOCAR, Sempra was declared the winner of the tender that took place this week. Loading of this consignment of oil from Novorossiisk has been planned for 28-19 October.

It may be recalled that 80 thousand tonnes of the October consignment of SOCAR's 220 thousand tonnes of oil to be exported along this route was purchased by LUKoil. It will ship its consignment between 10-15 October.

In general, in the second half of the year a total of 1.240 million tonnes of Azerbaijani oil will be transported shared in equal amounts of 220 thousand tonnes per month except for December with only 140 thousand tonnes.

In 2003 SOCAR should via this route 2.5 million tonnes of oil.
