SESSION OF MILLI MAJLIS COMMISSION FOR SCIENCE AND EDUCATION

The draft law “On electronic signature and electronic document” was discussed at the session of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) standing commission for science and education on September 25.

According to the Chairman of the commission Shakhlar Askerov, transactions in a number of developed countries of the world as well as in majority of international trading and industrial companies are made by means of electronic signature and electronic document. This method provides both fast and effective fulfillment of transactions and plays an important role in prevention of forgery of signatures and documents. Adoption of this law by Azerbaijan and joining this system is of great importance for the country.

During discussion of the drat law by the working group at previous Milli Majlis session, there were done some remarks and offers. Majority of these remarks have been reflected in the new option.

The draft reads that this law declares the usage of electronic signature, organizational and legal basis of its usage in circulation of electronic documents and rights of the related subjects, regulates the relations.

The session took a decision to put the draft to debates in the Parliament.
