On the same day, Astana hosted a sitting of the Council of CIS Heads of Government, at which a delegation of Azerbaijan headed by Prime Minister of the Republic Artur Rasizadeh was also present.
Behind closed doors, the Heads of Government discussed the documents submitted by the Council of Foreign Ministers and signed some 30 documents. Following the sitting, they responded to the questions from media representatives.
Commenting on the Russia’s measures on reinforcing control over its border with Azerbaijan, Prime Minister Artur Rasizadeh in particular said: we consider it as quite normal because those who commit crime in one country may enter the territory of other country. Azerbaijan law enforcement bodies used to detain a lot of such criminals. We condemn all the terror acts committed in Russia including that in Beslan. The reinforcement of control over Azerbaijan-Russia frontier will not impede expanding of our relations.
