President of Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev met April 12 with the delegation led by Deputy Director of the Austrian Oil Company “OMV” Gerhard Royse, the Company’s said.

Mr. Abdullayev underlined the Azerbaijan’s interest in export of the hydrocarbon resources to the Europe and dwelt on Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main oil pipeline and the Southern Caucasus pipeline. There are some transnational projects for the export of the energy resources to the Europe, including the more interest project Nabucco. Azerbaijan intends to export the natural gas to the Europe, and such meetings have an important significance to get relevant information on feasibility study of the Nabucco project and other ones, said SOCAR President.

Gerhard Royse, in his turn, said, that his company takes interest in development of the relations with SOCAR both in Nabucco project and in other ones. He stressed the necessity to study the opportunities of partnership between the SOCAR and “OMV”.

The sides shared views on other issues of mutual concern.
