SOCAR to continue its projects in Turkey

“As always we trust the Turkish government, people’s will, economy and stability implicitly,” President of Azerbaijan`s state oil firm, SOCAR, Rovnag Abdullayev has told Anadolu Agency.

Abdullayev said: “We will continue investing in Turkey and implementing our projects in the country. Our projects in Turkey, which are worth more than 18 billion US dollars and are aimed at meeting Europe’s energy demand, will be continued at a full and rapid pace.”

Abdullayev said Star oil refinery will start working in 2018, adding that the largest container sea port in the Aegean Sea region will soon be put into operation. “Our activity at Petkim symbolizes the confidence that we put on Turkey and its economy.” “In Turkey, directly or indirectly, SOCAR represents a 40,000-strong family. Turkey is our home. So we will continue to increase our investment in Turkey,” he added.
