SPARRING MATCHES ON SPRINGBOARD DUE IN AZERBAIJAN

The Baku school of gymnastics has planned to carry out in the Days of Novruz Bayrami control unofficial matches on sparring springboard.

As provided by AzerTAj correspondent, in sparring -partners will be chosen the youth teams of Ukraine, Belarus or Russia. Jumpers from the countries of near abroad have much competitive experience, and the Azerbaijani sportsmen have to learn and adopt from them. The March sparring will pass on completely new acrobatic path, which in the near future will be purchased by the Federation in Stavropol.

It should be reminded that the springboard is a performance of exercises on trampoline and acrobatic path. Length of the path totals 35 meters, and the width - 1,5 meters. Sparring jumps was part of sport acrobatics earlier, and later became a separate kind of sports.

According to the senior trainer of the national team of Azerbaijan on springboard, Arif Gafarov, recently the interest to this kind of sports began to grow. Evidence to that are internal competitions in which, along with sportsmen of the Baku school of gymnastics and sports schools of the Nizami district, as well as sportsmen from Devechi province of the Republic. There are certain successes and on the international scene. So, the sparring jumpers Taleh Gaziyev and Abdullah Gasimov on international tournament held in Kiev had certain competed successfully.

There are in general 150 persons in Azerbaijan engaged in sparring-jumping on springboard.
