STATEMENT OF PRESS-SERVICE OF MINISTRY OF FINANCES OF THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN ON FULFILLMENT OF STATE BUDGET FOR JANUARY THROUGH SEPTEMBER 2003

According to the press service of the Ministry of Finance, in January through September 2003, the revenue forecasts have been fulfilled by 103 percent exceeding these data of the same period of 2002 by 37,4 percent.

Some 68,8 percent or 2969,8 billion mantas were provided by the Ministry of Taxes, 17,2 percent or 744,7 billion manats - by the State Customs Committee and 14 percent or 605,1 billion manats- by other sources.

The Ministry of Taxes has fulfilled the revenue forecasts for January-September 2003 by 102,3 percent supplying extra 65,5 billion manats to the budget which is by 22,2 percent or 91,3 billion more than for the same period last year.

The State Customs Committee has fulfilled revenue forecasts for January-September 2003 by 102,8 percent exceeding by 14 percent or 91,3 billion manats the data of the same period last year.

The State Oil Fund has transferred the scheduled amount of 320 billion manats to the state budget.

For nine months of 2003, the budget expenditure has met the forecast.

The expenditures were mainly directed to financing of wages and social expenses. Thus, the Ministry has complied with the Presidential decree on raising wages.
