Carrying out in the occupied Nagorny Karabakh region of Azerbaijan of chess tournament with participation of sportsmen arrived form a number of countries have been recognized in Azerbaijan with fair discontent and indignation. On the basis of the requirement of the sports public of Azerbaijan the International Chess Federation (FIDE), having addressed the Republic of Armenia that supervises Nagorny Karabakh and other occupied territories of Azerbaijan, has stated that undesirability of carrying out of similar tournament and that its results would not be recognized.

However, despite of it, the Armenian side and the puppet structure «NKR» under its control has not missed the opportunity to carry out the next show pursuing the purpose of propagation. The organization of such tournament in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan contrary to official warning by FIDE serves as the evidence that Armenia and separatist forces taking place under its protection openly dictate the international sports public their will, use sports in the dirty political ends.

Unfortunately, the sportsmen representing numerous countries, by virtue of the political lack of information or for other reasons also have given in on provocation of separatists. Strangely enough, chess players of such states as Georgia, Poland, the Russian Federation, Iran, Latvia, Switzerland, having wide links with Azerbaijan, have agreed so that flags of their countries fluttered in the occupied Azerbaijan territories, and, not giving to this a due value, have established cooperation with separatists and have turned to figures of their politics tricks. This sports action has served, in a result, not to the world, association and rapprochement of peoples, but separatists, those who sow seeds of conflict and hostility among the peoples. The countries, which have directed the sportsmen in Nagorny Karabakh, it is necessary to know, that Nagorny Karabakh, carrying out in this territory any actions without the official consent of Azerbaijan is illegal.

The Ministry of foreign affairs of Azerbaijan Republic once again states that cooperation with the Armenian separatists which roughly break international legal norms and principles, until now hold under occupation of 20 percent of the territory of Azerbaijan and have also grieved thousands of suffering people, does not make honor to anybody, including the sportsmen, and once again attracts attention of FIDE, and also corresponding sports structures of Georgia, Poland, the Russian Federation, Iran, Latvia and Switzerland to inadmissibility of carrying out in the temporarily occupied Azerbaijan territories of any sports competitions without the consent of Azerbaijan.
