In Liverpool's 4-0 victory over Manchester United on Tuesday night, star forward Mohamed Salah set a new Premier League record against the Red Devils.

As the English top-flight season draws ever nearer to its conclusion, the Reds and Manchester City find themselves in a captivating title race.

It was imperative that Jurgen Klopp's men win their game against eternal rivals United in order to gain a temporary advantage over their title adversaries, and with the help of Egypt forward Salah, they were able to do just that.

Liverpool's No. 11 found the back of the net in both halves on Tuesday night to give the 2019/20 Premier League champions a two-point lead at the top of the log.

Salah's brace ensured that he became the first player in EPL history to score five goals against United in the same season, according to Opta Sports, with the 29-year-old having scored a hat-trick at Old Trafford in October 2021 during a resounding 5-0 win.

Salah is also the second player to both score and assist in home and away games against the Mancunians in a single Premier League campaign, after Mesut Ozil in 2015/16.

The red half of Manchester have now conceded more goals to Liverpool than any other side in their league history.
