Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament meets Honduran FM
Baku, May 8 (AZERTAC). Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov has met Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Honduras, Mireya Aguero de Corrales.
Mr. Asadov spoke of the history of bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Honduras.
The Speaker hailed the bilateral political cooperation, saying it is constantly developing. He highlighted potential for boosting economic cooperation between the two countries.
Mr. Asadov praised a resolution of the Honduran National Congress recognizing the occupation of Azerbaijan’s lands by Armenia and the Khojaly Massacre.
The Honduran FM noted there was enough potential to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in different areas, including trade, finance, and energy.
Aguero de Corrales said she was honored as she had been awarded with the “Dostlug” [Friendship] Order of the Republic of Azerbaijan by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The Honduran FM said she was well aware about Azerbaijan`s development, particularly the country’s increasing influence and rapid economic development.
Mr. Asadov presented medals of the Azerbaijani Parliament to representative of the Honduran International Court of Justice and Carlos Lopez Contreras and the country’s ambassador to Mexico Jose Mariano Castillo.
