Starlings - the most numerous songbirds

Baku, April 7, AZERTAC

Starlings are small to medium-sized birds. They are now among the most numerous songbirds. Starlings are strong fliers.

They eat insects and fruits. Plumage is typically dark with a metallic shine.

They are stocky black birds with short tails, triangular wings, and long, pointed bills.

Though they are sometimes resented for their abundance and aggressiveness, they are still dazzling birds when you get a good look.

There are 125 species worldwide and two species are in Azerbaijan.
