TARIFFS FOR ELECTRIC POWER, GAS ANS WATER TO BE INCREASED IN ARMENIA

Prime Minster of Armenia Andranik Markaryan stated that since January 1, 2004, tariffs for electric power, gas and water would be increased in Armenia, AzerTAj informs referring to RIA Novosti.
“ Today, government cannot say how much tariffs will be increased”, the Premier said. Markaryan stated that prime cost of the drinking water is 120 drams per cubic meters, taking into account investments in 290 drams.
Besides, tariffs for drinking water is 56 drams for today and government obliges to yearly grant about 6 bln drams for non-raising tariffs.
The Premier noted that commodity has to be sold on its prime cost. Today, natural gas supplying for the people costs 51 drams for 1 cubic meters, electric power is 25 drams for 1 kWh.
