TECHNOLOGY OF INFORMING WORLD COMMUNITY ABOUT REALTIES ABOUT AZERBAIJAN IS TO BE IMPROVED

A Round Table “Breach of information blockade. Last decade» was held on September 26 in the human rights institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.

Opening the session by introductory speech, director of the institute, doctor of political sciences Rovshan Mustafayev characterized the first period of informational blockade, spoke on the work done later, particularly, after 1993 for breach of this blockade, told about the activities of institute’s employees in this field.

Participants of the Round Table honored the memory of Azerbaijani journalists and their foreign colleagues fallen in zones of battle actions and conflicts.

The researcher of the institute Tatiyana Chaladze reminded about the first period of the information blockade. A real information war was held round Azerbaijan. Beginning with 1998, there was not a single word of truth in post Soviet mass media, everything was reported anomalously. When they had no chance to falsification of the events, they were keeping silence.

So, the world did not see those withdrawn from Armenia, learnt about Sumgait events and the bloody January of 1990, Hajali genocide, occupied lands from forged reports. For recent ten years, Azerbaijan has managed to breach the information blockade. Sometimes they say that Armenians have won the information war. This is not true; they make success due to their craftiness.

A representative of the State Commission for prisoners-of-war, hostages and missed affairs Gulshan Aliyeva, Pro-rector of the Oil Academy Imran Jafarzadeh, employee of the human rights institute Araz Gurbanov, representatives of mass media spoke on breach of information blockade, new modern informational technologies, perspectives an other issues, expressed their offers.

They expressed an idea that technology of telling the truth about Azerbaijan to world community should be improved. Creation of informational center at the immediate aid of the state could bring a good use. It is necessary to form up Azerbaijani journalistic lobby abroad. Journalists arriving in our republic should be provided with objective materials.

Rovshan Mustafayev informed that the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan approved the idea of holding science and research works, thesis on this issue.
